I'm Back.
Hi all
Firstly i would like to apologise for not blogging in such a long time, but Jade our daughter was in hospital for two weeks and it was utter hell. But thank God she is healthy and a happy little girl again. Life on the farm has blossomed like you will not believe. I am a proud mom to so many, that i do not know where to begin. I have 3 beautiful new baby geese. Two boys and a girl. They are actually teenagers by now, but still my babies. I have a Muscovy duck sitting on 14 eggs, so can't wait for them to come, and Mother goose is again sitting on 9 eggs. We have so many new calves now a total of 31 babies. They are so so cute, but must say it is getting hard work now to feed them morning and night, as they are still on milk. But to be honest i love it and would not change it for the world. Spring has sprung on the farm and you must see all the flowers. The whole farm is covered it small yellow little flowers and it is so so beautiful. i sometimes just go and sit in the middle of the field and just watch nature do its work. Started gardening again and have started a garden by my room window, and i must say it is looking good. All the cactus's are flowering now and i have never seen such beautiful flowers.
Well i will really start blogging again from Monday and hope you stick around and read. Have a great weekend and God bless one and all.

I'm a granny!
Hi all
Excitement has exploded here on the farm. The eggs hatched today! I was working in front of the house making more pots when i realised i had not visited the chickens yet this afternoon. Mainly went to go look if they were not in my rock garden trying to rearrange my plants. SO i went in to check on Lady and saw a egg shell laying in front of her. My first thought was she had broken a egg. I looked under to see if any egg was dripping out of the nest, but nothing. thinking about it now i think i would have smelt it if a 3 week egg had broken..LOL. So i go tell Olly and later he goes down to go look and who is sitting looking at him two black little chicks peeping away at the new oupa that was visiting. I was on the stoep looking what he was doing and he says come look. I run with my white socks all the way down to the coop as what do i see, by babies. Man they are so so cute. SO we look further and the poor little chicks have no hair on their necks just like Ricky the Rooster. Look i had to laugh the poor guys have there fathers genes, and i must say i am looking forward to seeing a black naked neck chicken. Going to be interesting. At least we know who the dad is. Will take photos tomorrow to show you all my grand babies. Tomorrow i have to build a nursery for them as they need to eat chick feed and only little water as they can drown. So that another adventure for me as i love building things.
Saturday i am building a working shed for my pots, so i can work there as my dear hubby is saying i am taking over the garage. And where i can put all my cuttings i am growing. I must say my fingers are a better part of going green, as i planted my first cuttings that rooted. Spekbome which i love and 5 cacti that also took. My mother would be proud.
Anyway till tomorrow when all the fun begins. Oh yes my two new hens are arriving tomorrow can't wait. Think of names as i am running out of them.
Keep well
Love Hannelore

Hello all!
Hi all
Sorry for being so quiet but the internet has been slow these past few days and have been giving me grey hairs.
Well all is well on the farm, the chickens are happy. I put in 3 new nests today as i will be getting a few more this week. This week it is the week for lady to hatch those eggs and i hope she will make me a granny soon. Finished my first pot a few days ago and make two more with broken tiles in. Just waiting for it to dry as it has been raining here, and i forgot to put it in the garage. You will see in the photos the one i finished i planted some cacti that i found on the farm and the other one is for a tree for the stoep. The other photo is of them in the sun not finished yet. Today i sent my hubby to town to go get cement colouring so that is the new thing i will be trying, by putting in colouring in the cement. Lets see how that comes out. Jade at least slept after that long haul of no sleep, but last night she did it again, but lets see how things are going to go tonight.
Well let me get going need to go cook supper and feed the chickens and do what needs to be done.
Keep well
All my love Hannelore

Started a new project!
Started a new project today. I started doing Hypertufa. It is when you take peat which is a type of moss compost, mix that with cement and sand and you can make rock looking types of pots.My first one is a big pot for a tree on the stoep, then a smaller one and then a even smaller one. So let see what happens when it is cured and finished.
Still no sleep, it has been 12 days of 4 to 5 hours sleep and i am dead on my feet. I do not know what is Jade's problem and so need some sleep. Tonight is the night that i medicate her to sleep so that i can at least get more hours in. I am so tired. Went for a walk the other day, after another bad night just to get some fresh air and to get away from the house, and i then realised while i was walking in a spot that i always go that i just do not have the energy to do it. The body is not the same when you are tired, the mind wants to shut down but the brain and your daughter says no you can't. Met a snake on that day and i got such a fright i went cold. It was a long boom slang. And just minutes before i met it laying on a hot rock, i said to myself, man i am lucky that i have not come face to face with a snake yet. Well the devil was right there and sent one just to wake me up.
Lady is still on the eggs and the others are having a ball in the yard. The geese are getting more tame and when they see me they come up close and i sit down and chat and they look at me with their blues eyes as to say yes we understand.
Olly my hubby built a shed this week and i must say it looks good. Had our first visit from a neighbouring farmer and he is really nice. Gave Olly lots of advice.
I am now working on a plan to get more chickens ( hens ) but have to get around my hubby. But i know i will and will get some soon. Oh well time to go, enjoy your Saturday afternoon and think of me when you go to sleep. If you have extra sleep on hand send some this way please!!!!!!!

Sorry for being so quiet!
Hi all
Sorry for being so quiet these last few days but i have been busy with Jade and had to go to Grahamstown twice in a row. Went to the Grahamstown Festival again and had to do the monthly shopping. Today i went and after 6 and a half years the Goverment has at last granted me free medication for Jade. Man i really thought that it would be a fight, but i must say it was done in about an hour. Man i am so glad, and now i am on a role and will be applying for Jade's grant in the next month. Thanks to my nanny that looks after Jade, she knew were to go and what to do, so i am so lucky to have her.
Furthermore all is well with all my feathered friends. Rocky has moved in well, and has a girlfriend. I think it is love. Lady is still on the eggs and doing well. Not much news but as soon as i do have i will share all. Still not sleeping well, but i am getting used to the little hours and i am fresh and brushy tailed in the morning.
Adding a photo of Rocky so you all can see.
Keep well and safe and happy
All my love

We at the Farm welcome ~ Rockie
Hi all
So all the sadness is at bay, and life goes on at the farm. The days are beautiful, with has given me the chance to go walking again with the dogs and just enjoying nature. I have been having such lovely walks, looking at all the different plants and the rock formations, it is amazing. I can be walking and see the most beautiful rock, and i would sit down looking at it thinking God really did a good job with his paint brush on this one. Then i would walk more and find lots more and think no, this it more beautiful.
Today was Soxs the dogs birthday ~ He is 2, so i spoilt them with nice bones and a nice swim in the dam. Played with them by throwing a ball into the water and they thought it was Christmas. Jade got a present today from my friend June that has the local farm shop. A bantam Leghorn Rooster for Molly and Polly the bantam girls. He is so so handsome, and so prim and proper. I wanted to name him Lucky but Olly my hubby says he looks to strong and needed to be named Rockie after the boxer movie, so there you go, WELCOME Rockie. Will get a photo in as soon as i can, get him to stand still, and she is so happy to have two girlfriends he thinks he is cheese. Ricky the big rooster was not to happy but they are buddies now and are next to each other all the time.
Oh and great news i might be becoming a granny soon. Lady is broody and sitting on eggs. Just imagine that. Man i will be so proud, and with guard them with my life as i am not going to loose anymore feathered friends and it hurts to much. To you all the countdown has begun, lets see what happens in 21 days...Yippeeeee ( Hold thumbs please)
Well i am better today after a good nights sleep. My batteries are charged and i am ready to take on the world. Going to put a photo or two on of Jade, so that Fran can see her. And of course so that my family can see her too.
Have a great evening and hold thumbs i sleep.
Chat soon
And thanks
God Bless
Love Hannelore
